Although Europe lags behind the United States and China in the development of artificial intelligence (AI), it is way ahead in legislation of its safe use, based on the European values. As in the case of the GDPR, the EU has a chance to become a global leader in AI regulations soon. At the same time, the European Union faces a real challenge of striking the right balance between maintaining high standards of privacy protection and security of users of artificial intelligence systems and creating appropriate conditions for the development of innovation.
