JOB DESCRIPTION:

Your job responsibilities will include,

 

GST COMPLIANCE SUPPORT: (50%-70%)                                                                                 

 

FILING OF GSTR-1 (OUTWARD SUPPLY)/ GSTR 3B (Summary Return)/ GSTR 9/9C (Annual Compliances)

 

       Liaise with internal/ external finance and accounts team, and other department for required data and information;

       Review of key aspects such as valuation, place of supply and time of supply, in the light of GST provisions;

       Review of outward/ inward supply invoices, agreements, debit notes and credit notes, including HSN / SAC summary, including periodic scrutiny of liability and other tax related GLs and ensure reconciliation;

       Preparation returns and related workings/schedules for allocated states and sharing with reviewer.

       Availing credit after reconciliation with GSTR 2A/2B, ITC reversal as per the applicable rules/ procedure;

       Payment of liability, preparation of challan;

       Co-ordination with ASP/GSP/Consultants/Internal team for filing of compliances.


PREPARATION AND FILING OF GST REFUNDS (10%-20%)

       Preparation of various refund and submissions of the same in respect of the allocated states.

       Reply to the Show cause notices, departmental enquiries.

       Submission and follow up with GST Department for refund claims.

 

CUSTOMS/ FOREIGN TRADE RELATED (15%-25%)

       Handling customs (SEZ, EOU, STPI related compliance viz. preparation and filing of returns, permissions, maintenance of records. 

       Visiting department for follow-up of permissions/ approvals.

 

OTHER MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT                                                                                          

 

       Maintenance of records as required under GST, Customs laws for allocated States and retrieve them as and when required;

       Retrieval and sharing of workings / documents / information/ past records etc. with tax team

/ consultants for any scrutiny / enquiry/ assessments / appeals etc;

       Stay updated on latest tax rulings, changes in law and update the Taxation manual accordingly;

       Research work- relating to Indirect Tax rate, valuation, compliances, taxability, exemption etc.

       Liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth audits and reporting for quarterly / annual audits;

       Understanding SOPs and implementing it in the routine course of work;

       Providing support during internal/ external peer review;

       Maintenance of time sheet as per the internal rules and procedure.

       Guiding, mentoring junior staff reporting to him/ her.

       Prepare MIS and reports for senior management in respect of the allocated states, as and when required;

       Preparation and filing of reply to the notices, departmental enquiries, Appeals, Representation before tax authorities.

DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE:

·         A strong passion and interest for tax and want to excel his long term career in litigation;

·         Tally and MS Excel/ MS Word/ PPT Knowledge. Also proficient knowledge of using Computer systems and Government websites;

·         Basic knowledge of Indirect tax laws;

·         Ability to work in a team and guide/ manage staff reporting to him/ her.

·         Comfortable with department liasoning; 

·       Experienced CA/ CS/ CWA having 6 months to 1.5 years of relevant experience in a reputed CA Firm or Big 20 firms; 

·       Experienced LLB degree holders having 1-3 years of relevant experience in a reputed CA/ Law Firm or Big 20 firms; 

·       Fresher CA/CS/CWA having relevant experience during article ship (at least 2 years)
